Senior Holiday wish party

- Clarence, A2C and her band of merry elves, including the Ritz-Carlton, Sunrise Rotary, Town of Truckee PD, the V.I.C.E. Squad, Gratitudes, BNI and too many others to list but all very much appreciated threw down a whopper of a party for Truckee seniors. Tthe Big Guy himself, Santa, was there to hand out presents and a touch of magic at the Truckee Donner Senior Apartments.

Floriston Holidaze Potluck

- The Town of Floriston continued a long-standing tradition of holiday potlucks in the historic one room schoolhouse Saturday. Organizers Karen Seelhoff and Jerry Stinson deep fried turkeys, mashed potatoes and brought in the rocking band Guitar Woody and the Boilers. Much feasting and dancing was had before a town-wide raffle was held for community member Tammy Anagnos, who is in need of a liver transplant. Find Tammy's story online at sierrasun.com.

Dia de los Muertos

- The Family Resource Center of Truckee, (FRCT) a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education, resources and advocacy for vulnerable families, held its fifth annual Día de los Muertos event Friday, Nov. 4, at the Community Arts Center in Downtown Truckee. The event, also known as "Day of the Dead," recognizes the Latin American holiday that focuses on gatherings of family and friends to remember those who have passed on.
